The story of Taggart's Driving School involves its people, its students and its philosophy. The heritage of the company dates back to 1957 and today Taggart's is firmly established as a national leader in the field of driver education and traffic safety.
Taggart's utilizes and maintains training equipment and techniques which are up-to-date in every respect. Our instructors and support personnel are a team whose primary mission is to insure a constant and dynamic program for our students.
Thousands of Georgians have been given the opportunity to live richer and fuller lives by becoming safe and competent drivers -- at Taggart's. That's our only concern.
Our Driver Education Programs are respected throughout the country. We teach the program at our own classroom locations, for many of the private schools in Metropolitan Atlanta and the State of Georgia. We also provide the program for the Henry County and Paulding County Boards of Education and Decatur City Schools.
Our training vehicles are well maintained and are equipped with the exclusive two steering wheel, two brake and two gas pedal system. This two steering wheel system allows for ease of learning. Demonstration by our instructors results in a reduced number of lessons necessary for our students to become safe and competent defensive drivers.
Our students are covered by a basic $1,000,000.00 automobile liability policy (state law requires only a minimum of $50,000.00) and we also carry a $1,000,000.00 umbrella policy.
Taggart's training vehicles feature safety top signs, especially designed for our school. They provide additional visual notice to other drivers when our student is slowing down, stopping or changing lanes. Other drivers are much more understanding when they realize a student is operating our training vehicle.
All of Taggart's Driving Schools are licensed by the Georgia Department of Driver Services to teach both the 6 and 8 hour Driver Improvement Programs and provide assessments, teach the 20 hour class program and schedule clinical evaluations for individuals required to participate in DUI/Drug Risk Reduction Programs.
